Job Summary
Qualification: A University Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, IT/IS, or something that shows you know your stuff. You didn`t major in “Sarcasm Studies,” right?
Requirements:
Minimum 10 years of experience managing and/or directing an IT/IS operation. Basically, you need to have seen some things and done some stuff Experience in using IT/IS and business systems to deliver value to business operations. It`s all about making things work better, faster, stronger like the Six Million Dollar Man, but with computers Ability to maximize efficiency and execute IT operations and projects, including maintenance and continuous improvement of IT/IS for both South African and global operations. If you can juggle all that without dropping a ball, youre the one for us Advanced level of business applications exposure, which includes Microsoft, ERP, Infor Nexus (Supply Chain), and BI (QlikSense) Youve got to be the Yoda of these systems
Duties:
Business Systems: Develop, document, execute, and review a strategic plan for Business Systems. We need someone who can plan like a Ross Geller schedules his whole life Identify and monitor the interdependence of strategic initiatives and their impact on value delivery and risk. Its like managing all the relationships in Friends without the drama Coordinate and facilitate consultation with stakeholders to define systems requirements for new technology implementations. Youll be the tech diplomat, smooth talker, and problem solver kind of like Joey, but with actual skills Monitor and assess current and future technologies, providing advice on costs, risks, and opportunities. Because looking into the future is your thing no time machines needed Business Consulting: Compile documents according to departmental standards. Your reports should be as neat and organized as Monicas apartment Act as an advocate for the organization`s technology vision through regular communications with executives, department heads, and end users. Channel your inner Rachel and be the face of IT charm Identify, define, and recommend process and system improvements. Youll be the Chandler of finding better ways to do things Develop and provide ongoing process and systems training and guidance to operations management. Think of it as teaching Ross how to move a couch PIVOT Financial Management: Develop, track, and control the department`s annual operating and capital budget. Youll need to manage money like you manage your coffee budget meticulously Align all Capex to strategy and operational requirements. Youll need to keep track of every penny, like Monica keeps track of everyones secrets Approve discretionary additional funding where appropriate. Be wise, like Ross with a fossil Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for technology spending and initiatives. Make decisions that even a Geller would approve of Corporate Governance: Meet all regulatory and compliance measures within guidelines and maintain risk profile within agreed parameters. No messing around follow the rules like Monica follows cleaning schedules Define and communicate plans, policies, and standards for acquiring, implementing, and operating technology systems. Communication should be clear, like Phoebes songs well, maybe clearer Maintain an IT governance framework that maximizes value for the enterprise. Governance that works like Joeys charm effortlessly Assess and communicate risks associated with information technology investments to appropriate levels of management. Risk assessment thats as thorough as Rosss dino lectures People Management: Plan, select, develop, and maintain workforce capabilities for the function as required by the operation. Manage your team like Monica manages Thanksgiving dinners everyone has a role. Ensure compliance with company HR policies within the department. Follow the rules, but with a sense of humour Develop contingency plans to ensure organizational sustainability.
