Job Summary
Job Specification Provides for and delivers health and safety programmes and services to workers in their place of employment Focuses on the promotion and restoration of health, the prevention of illness and injury and the protection from work-related and environmental hazards Creates a healthy and safe working environment and a functional working community Promotes the working ability of individuals and work populations Knowledge and understanding of the risk to which each worker are exposed Healthcare expertise is combined with knowledge of business which enables balancing the requirements for a safe and healthy work environment and the interests of the employees with that of the employer Knowledge which enables focussing on the direct care of healthcare users, as well as assessing and managing common ailments facing the working adult Knowledge of programmes aimed at preventing occupational illnesses and injuries, the management of disability, assessment and prevention of risks Knowledge to provide consultation with employers and employees as well as providing worker education and training Knowledge of all legislation relevant to OH including, but not limited to the following: Nursing Act (Act 50 of 1978) OH&S Act (Act 85 of 1993), as amended and regulations Labour Relations Act (Act 66 of 199) as amended Basic Conditions of Employment Act (Act 75 of 1997), as amended & Codes of Practice COIDA (Act 130 of 1993), as amended and relevant internal instructions The Medicines and Related Substances Control Act, (65 of 1965) as amended Employment Equity Act (55 of 1998) & Codes of Good Practice Regulations in terms of National Road Traffic Act, 1996 (Act 93 of 1996)as amended SANS codes of practice Working within a food manufacturing environment Minimum Requirements Registered Professional Nurse with additional qualifications in Occupational Health (OH), Primary Health (PH) and a Dispensing License Minimum 3 years of experience in similar environment Planning and organisational skills Problem solving and negotiation skills Critical thinking skills Leadership skills Written and communication skills Interpersonal skills Conflict handling skills Language skills Computer skills Kindly note that by submitting your application for this career opportunity, you agree that Guardian Recruiting may use your application for the purpose of the recruitment and selection of the said position, and this information may be shared with the relevant stakeholders in the business.
