Job Summary
RS Recruitment is assisting a well-established, international organisation in the TRAVEL INDUSTRY to recruit a COMMERCIAL EXECUTIVE to be based at their offices in DURBAN . Approximately R25 000 to R35 000, negotiable depending on qualifications and experience. OUR CLIENT, ESTABLISHED OVER 50 YEARS AGO, IS A MULTI-NATIONAL COMPANY WITH ITS HEAD QUARTERS IN LONDON PROVIDING UNFORGETTABLE HOLIDAYS IN AFRICA AND SOUTH ASIA. PURPOSE OF THE POSITTION: The overall purpose of the position is to analyse contracts, negotiate terms of business with various suppliers and capture contracts with 100% accuracy. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE/BE THE FOLLOWING: Matric. A relevant commercial/financial qualification. Good business acumen. An aptitude for working with figures. A good understanding of bookkeeping/accounting principles. Bookkeeping skills/experience. High level of accuracy. Attention to detail. Can do attitude. Strong work ethic. Initiative. Experience in the travel industry, an advantage. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: Commercial tasks: Contract analysis. Negotiating contracts. Loading of contracts. Competitor analysis. Assisting the Reservations Team with queries. Maintaining relationships with suppliers. Bookkeeping tasks: Monthly financial reporting. Validation and processing of invoices. Dealing with invoice queries. WORKING HOURS Winter: 10am to 5pm (SA time) Monday to Friday. Summer: 11:am to 6pm (SA time) Monday to Friday. Please note that the successful candidate will need to work during SA public holidays but will be off during UK public holidays. Remuneration: Approximately R25 000 to R35 000, negotiable depending on qualifications and experience. To apply, please forward your CV to
