Job Summary
Key
Responsibilities:
Leading and supervising a team of guides and rangers to deliver informative and memorable safari experiences. Conducting game drives, bush walks, and other safari activities while providing expert knowledge of local wildlife, flora, and fauna. Ensuring the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of guests during all lodge activities. Collaborating with lodge management to maintain high standards of hospitality and service delivery. Serving as a lodge anchor by cultivating a positive and professional environment for guests and staff. Implementing and promoting conservation practices to support sustainable tourism initiatives. Training and mentoring junior guides to uphold lodge values and conservation principles.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Head Guide or Senior Ranger in a luxury lodge or safari environment. FGASA Level 2 or equivalent field guide qualification. Exceptional leadership and communication skills. Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail. First Aid certification and proficiency in handling emergency situations. Passion for wildlife conservation and sustainable tourism practices. Flexibility to work long hours, weekends, and holidays as required. Hospitality management experience (preferred).
