How you`ll role
As an accountant, your key purpose is to provide appropriate financial information and undertake related accounts administration. You`ll also ensure the integrity of accounting information by analysing, recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
What you`ll do
- Capture all transactions, receipts, and payments daily, balance cashbooks and reconciliations against bank statements
- Record all fixed assets, calculate and post depreciation and monthly journals
- VAT reconciliations, VAT submissions, payments to SARS, and compiling reports when required
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Load supplier applications onto the system, ensuring all documentation is complete and allocate data in the financial system
- Capture supplier invoices, process payments, perform monthly creditor reconciliations, and effectively deal with supplier queries
- Control petty cash float
- Update awards reports (summary & detail) and provide them to FD
- Adhoc investigations and corrections
- Forex payments as needed
- Manage travelling process and expenses
- Processing and reconciliations of company credit cards and staff expense claims
- Cost recoveries group companies
What you`ll need
- A degree or diploma in financial accounting (minimum)
- Experience in an advertising agency will be advantageous
- Proficiency in Pastel Evolution and Workbook
- An aptitude for numbers and strong administrative skills
- The ability to work as part of a team and maintain effective working relationships
- The ability to manage external suppliers expectations
