Job Summary
Deloitte is recruiting a Tax Compliance Manager for a permanent role with one of our external clients. The position is to be filled urgently, and will require the caniddate to be based in Randburg at the client. The Tax Compliance Manager will report to the Head of Tax: Africa, with a dotted reporting line to Regional Tax Managers. Key Customers in the role: Internal: CFO, Regional FDs, Group Head of Tax, Head of Finance, Head of Agency & Franchise Markets, Regional Finance Controller, Country Finance Managers, Country Finance controllers, Regional Tax Managers, Regional Finance Directors External: Revenue Authorities across the 51 countries, Group External Auditors Purpose of the Position The role will primarily focus on the tax compliance oversight across the relevant region which includes corporate income (incl TP) tax, VAT (plus other sales taxes), Withholding taxes, Customs and Excise duties for the pay TV services in the Rest of Africa (RoA) markets. This is an exciting and challenging role, which requires constant learning and development, focus and execution to achieve company strategic goals and objectives in over 43 countries Qualifications Honours Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Tax, Law or equivalent Charted Accountanting or equivalent qualification in good standing; and/or Specialized international tax qualification Experience Minimum of 6 years of tax and accounting compliance experience (at least 3 of these should be in a commercial environment) with significant experience in African tax issues Fluent in the English language Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills in English Proven ability to work cross-functionally Technical Competencies Advanced report writing skills (audience Snr Management (in-country, regional & Corporate) as well as Exco and Revenue authorities. Computer skills (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint), particularly strong in Excel Strategic Thinking and Agility Risk Management Deadline driven and results focused Ability to work in a well organized, accurate and reliable manner Working in a multi-cultural environment Communicative, team oriented and open for change Able to work on own initiative and prioritize workload effectively Strong Analytical Skill with detail orientation and reporting skills Strong Communication Skill and good problem solving experience
