Job Summary
A great mining company in Pretoria, Gauteng is seeking the expertise of an Environmental Manager to join their team of professionals.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of integrated mine closure plans that prioritize environmental sustainability and community well-being
- Collaborate with mining operations to ensure compliance with closure obligations and post-closure monitoring
- Collaborate closely with the Life of Mine Planning teams to ensure that mine closure considerations are seamlessly integrated into long-term planning
- Oversee water resource management, including efficient usage and responsible discharge practices
- Implement water conservation measures and engage with local communities on sustainable water practices
- Develop and oversee environmental monitoring programs to track key performance indicators
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Bachelors / Masters Degree in Environmental Science / Environmental Management
- 10 12 years experience in an underground mining environment
