Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Materials Cost Estimator (BOM) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining accurate bills of materials for our products, ensuring all components and materials are properly specified and costed. The responsibilities are: Develop comprehensive bills of materials for new and existing products Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and production teams to gather accurate component data Conduct thorough cost analysis to determine the most competitive pricing for materials and parts Update BOMs to reflect changes in design, suppliers, or pricing Perform regular BOM audits to identify and resolve any discrepancies Provide technical support to the sales and operations teams on BOM-related matters Implement processes and best practices to streamline BOM management Generate detailed reports and presentations on BOM status and cost trends Stay up-to-date on industry standards, regulations, and new technologies related to BOM management
Requirements:
Relevant degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field 8 to 10 years of experience in BOM development, cost estimation, or a similar role Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and supply chain dynamics Proficiency in using BOM management software and ERP systems Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate cross-functionally Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools and processes Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for complex data analysis If you are a detail-oriented professional with a passion for cost optimization and BOM management, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
