Job Summary

The Operations Team leader is a senior role that involves overseeing all aspects of the company`s transport services. It is the Operations Team leader`s job to make sure the organisation is running as well as it possibly can, with a smooth efficient service that meets the expectations and needs of customers and clients in a safe and efficient manner.

Requirements:

Matric with logistics qualification advantage Advanced Computer skills Minimum 5 years plus Logistics experience Management skills Ability to work in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town

Duties:

Manage and report any accidents or unsafe conditions Compliance and knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations and other safety standards Coordinate with Fleet department on vehicles available for scheduling Manage mistakes and waste Maintain effective and timely scheduling of staff Facilitate communication within the management team Monitor all scheduled tasks to ensure they are efficiently completed Provide training to workforce – if and when needed Responsible for productivity metrics Interpret the Operations SOP and Company procedures to the control team Staff management procedures Assist CEO, Operational Director, Fleet Manager and IT Manager with research and development of new techniques and procedures to increase the efficiency of any transportation operation Provide additional assistance with projects and other activities as assigned Prepare annual budgets and reports concerning the operation costs Interacts with approved and authorised subcontractors Oversee that the scheduling of drivers hours is compliant with the statutory requirements set for the industry Ensure drivers pdp`s and licenses are controlled and up to date Oversee the safety of subordinates in the vehicles and areas of work Effective communication by holding regular meetings with all parties Effective support to Fleet department to ensure vehicles are roadworthy and safe Regularly attend client/customer briefings and meetings that relate to the operation areas or needs of clients and ensure these are effectively minuted and filed Effectively communicating incidents and accidents Monitoring transport costs and minimizing accidents and damages as a result of driver negligence Monitoring and maintaining OTA/OTD and breakdowns Manage company culture, teamwork, accuracy, effective communication, productivity and feedback Ensure reports are filed Conduct a shift handover If this exciting position sounds like you, apply.
