Job Summary

Our client, a transport and logistics company, is looking for an Product Designer to join their team in the Kraaifontein area.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a Product Designer, you will play a crucial role in creating user-centered designs for our clients products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality and innovative design solutions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

1. User Research and Analysis:

• Conduct user research to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points.
• Analyze research findings to inform design decisions and create user personas.
• Stay updated with industry trends and competitor products to identify opportunities for improvement.

2. User Experience (UX) Design:

• Develop wireframes, user flows, and prototypes that effectively communicate design
• Create user journey maps and conduct usability testing to refine designs.
• Ensure the design process is user-centered, focusing on creating intuitive and engaging experiences.

3. User Interface (UI) Design:

• Design visually appealing and cohesive user interfaces for web and mobile applications.
• Develop design systems, style guides, and component libraries to ensure consistency.
• Collaborate with developers to implement designs and ensure design fidelity.

4. Interaction Design:

• Design interactive elements such as buttons, menus, and navigation flows.
• Create animations and transitions to enhance the user experience.
• Build interactive prototypes to test and demonstrate design ideas.

5. Visual Design:

• Produce high-quality visual assets, including icons, illustrations, and graphics.
• Apply principles of color theory, typography, and visual hierarchy to designs.
• Ensure that designs align with brand guidelines and visual identity.

6. Figma Design:

• Create high to low fidelity wireframes in Figma, ensuring a smooth
• design-to-development handoff.
• Develop detailed and exportable Figma designs that developers can easily convert into
• Maintain and update Figma design files, ensuring they are well-organized and accessible.

7. Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and constraints.
• Present design concepts and solutions to stakeholders, gathering feedback and iterating as needed.
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

8. Problem-Solving and Innovation:

• Identify design challenges and propose creative solutions.
• Balance user needs with business goals and technical constraints.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve the product and design process.

9. Project Management:

• Manage design projects from conception to completion, ensuring timelines are met.
• Prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Use project management tools to track progress and communicate with the team.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Bachelors degree in Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field (or some formal education)
• Proven experience as a Product Designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma (especially), Adobe XD, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Expertise in creating high to low fidelity wireframes and detailed designs in Figma.
• Experience in developing designs in Figma that can be seamlessly exported into code by developers.
• Solid understanding of UX principles, user research methods, and usability testing.
• Strong visual design skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Experience with prototyping tools like InVision, Marvel, or Axure.
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.

The position in based in their head office.

Location: Kraaifontein

Salary:

Market related and depending on experience

Starting date: As soon as possible.
