Job Summary

Quantity Surveyor Assistant/Estimator Cape Town Harbour Experience: Minimum 3 years in the Construction/Engineering Industry Qualification: Minimum of a Diploma in one of the following: Building Estimating Quantity Surveying Construction Procurement Construction Finance Engineering (Mechanical, Structural or Civil) Construction Supervision/Management Engineering Estimation Contract Period: 12 Month Contract (extension based on performance and client requirements)

Salary:

When wessel is in port – R32,000 including overtime When wessel is not in port – R 18,000.00 including overtime during projects (paid for every hour worked) Working Hours: In-Port Hours (When there is a Vessel in the dock) Week 1: – Monday-Friday (07:00am – 19:00pm) – Saturday (07:00am – 17:00pm) – Sunday (07:00am – 17:00pm) Week 2: – Monday-Friday (07:00am – 19:00pm) – Saturday (Off) – Sunday (Off) – Public Holidays (07:00am – 19:00pm) Repeat. Non In-Port Hours (When there is no Vessel in for Maintenance/Capital work) Week 1: – Monday-Friday (07:00am – 15:00pm) – Saturday (Off) – Sunday (Off) Week 2: – Monday-Friday (07:00am – 15:00pm) – Saturday (Off) – Sunday (Off) – Public Holidays (Off) Project Specific Working Hours: 07:00 19:00 including weekends and public holidays (projects range from 40 to 90 days) x 3 per year

Responsibilities:

Assist in Final Account verification (check contractor quotations against contract rates) Set up enquiry BOQ““s from a scope of work Adjudication of tenders Prepare Contract BOQ““s Administer Contract Variation Orders Manage enquiries for tender purposes Conduct site measures Process interim payments Prepare engineering estimates Perform cost reporting Competency in Software: MS Office 2013 (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) – Required WinQS advantageous, not a requirement DimX advantageous, not a requirement SAP – advantageous, not a requirement Experience with accounting software (SAP, Pastel, Sage, etc.) – advantageous, not a requirement Estimating software- advantageous, not a requirement Adobe- advantageous, not a requirement
