Job Summary

Village N Life is a leading luxury hotel brand based in Camps Bay.

Our flagship, The Bay Hotel, seeks and experienced senior storeman to join our team.

The main purpose of the position is to ensure that all stock levels are maintained, stored in the proper conditions and security of the stock.

Minimum requirements

Matric
Mathematical acumen
2 years experience as a storeman in a 4/5 star hotel
Inventory and stock management experience
Opera experience a plus
MS Office (Word, Excel and email)

Duties and responsibilities

Order goods and supplies to ensure maximum stock levels ae maintained
Ensure goods are received in the quantity and quality according to the agreed price
To ensure that goods are stored at the correct temperatures and humidity
Ensure stock rotation FIFO
Ensure store rooms are kept neat as per company standards
Ensure maintenance of the stock rooms are performed
Liaise with senior managers for purchasing of goods outside of the company parameters
Ensure goods are issued against requisitions
No entry to store rooms, except for stores staff
Inform management of spillage and wastage, and follow company procedures in such cases
Order goods through approved suppliers only
Manage stock levels and ensure wastage is kept to a minimum
Effectively control costs of purchasing
Ensure administration and stock counts are done without delay
