Job Summary

Bible Media is a Christian Media Ministry. They produce and provide content to inspire the Christian Way. Currently, the organisation is in the process of digital transformation, building a more comprehensive digital footprint. They require the services of a Junior Journalist / Digital Content Creator with the ability to communicate the Christian message in simple and beautiful language. The ideal candidate should be able to generate topic ideas that will appeal to their audience and create written and/or visual content around those topics. Responsibilities Creating online content (such as blog posts, online articles, newsletters, social media posts and white papers) Managing a content strategy and content calendar to ensure consistent publications Growing Bible Media’s audience Requirements BA degree (Journalism / Communications / English and Afrikaans / Literature) Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and communication skills in both English and Afrikaans An understanding of SEO/SEM best practices with experience in web traffic metrics and web publishing The ability to write for multiple channels (such as long-form, newsletters and social media) Proficiency in content management systems (such as WordPress) and analytics software Proficiency in Canva to create visually attractive content Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite Detail orientated work style with time management and organisational skills The ability to determine customer needs and translate them to content ideas Extremely creative personality Ethical and value-driven view of life, upholding Christian values
