Job Summary

As the Assistant Finance Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Finance Department, managing financial reporting and managing the performance of the financial department. Duties include: Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements for the company and individual projects. Develop, implement and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Ensure that all statutory requirements are met including relevant SARS requirements. Prepare all supporting information for the annual financial audit and liaise with External auditors. Prepare all supporting information for the annual BEE Verification and liaise with Auditors. Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash. Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting. Reporting to the holding company. Manage the cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts. Oversee the bookkeeping function including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. Assist the Managing Director and the Finance Director with financial reporting as required at Board and Annual General Meetings. Establish guidelines for budget and forecast preparation and prepare the annual budget in consultation with the Managing Director. Monitor risk management policies and procedures and advise on appropriate insurance coverage for the organization and the Board of Directors. Negotiate with Bank for financial services as required and appropriate. Oversee and supervise the administrative function. Oversee the management of all leases, contracts and other financial commitments. Monitor all legislation and regulations on professional certification to ensure compliance.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role. Chartered Accountant certification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Proficient in SAGE and VIP. Advanced Excel skills. Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
