Job Summary

Hire Resolves client in the mining industry is urgently seeking the expertise of a Senior Instrument Technician in Brits, North West.

Responsibilities

• Minimize shutdown time by planning and controlling allocated tasks as requested by the engineering manager
• Participating in investigating and taking corrective actions in the event of instrument failures and/or incidents
• Ensure that LMDC safety policy is applied by executing scheduled plant inspections
• Ensure installation and maintenance of plant control systems
• Provide input to project coordinators in terms of control system requirements
• Implements appropriate technological control solutions to ensure optimal process control and efficiency
• Ensure that control installations are configured according to appropriate standards and procedures
• Apply instrumentation theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational control
• Test and assemble experimental and operational instrumentation devices, pneumatics, and electronic components according to engineering data, and according to instrumentation principals best practices
• Apply good fault-finding techniques on Rockwell, Siemens, and PLC/SCADA process with corrective action
• Ensure compliance and adherence to SHE policies, programs, practices, safety standards, and regulations
• Ensure good housekeeping standards and maintained
• Daily, Weekly, and Monthly inspections
• Must be able to work overtime when required

Requirements

• Grade 12
• N3 Certificate
• National Technical Diploma
• 5 years of experience in the mining industry
