Job Summary
Sagen Advisory Recruitment Company has an opportunity at an established and reputable Consultancy in Century City, Cape Town for an Accountant to join their ranks.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with the required qualifications and experience to join a modern and fast-growing accounting and consultancy firm to build a career in the industry.
The candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in an accounting firm environment, and completion or partial completion of SAIPA, SAICA, or CIMA articles. A candidate with the intention of a long-term commitment would be viewed favorably. Solid experience working with CaseWare, compiling AFS, and assisting with audits will be required.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Perform high-level accounting duties.
- Preparing accounting work relating to compilations of annual financial statements.
- Preparation and Review of financial statements in CaseWare.
- Compilations of Annual Financial Statements on CaseWare.
- Perform high level tax compliance.
- Preparation and Review of management accounts.
- Writing up of more complex accounting records of clients.
- Review monthly bookkeeping / VAT clerks.
- Responsible for calculating VAT, PAYE and other necessary SARS requirements on a monthly basis.
- Reconcile Debtors and Creditors on a monthly basis.
- Payroll and other monthly reviews
- Reviewing work done by supervised staff before partner review, where applicable.
- Ad hoc accounting and tax work
- Client interaction and relations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Accounting or similar.
- Partial or completed SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA articles.
- AGA(SA) or PA(SA) an advantage.
- Experience with CaseWare, Xero, Pastel, Sage.
Remuneration:
- R20,000 to R30,000 pm, depending on experience.
