Job Summary (Refrigeration, aircon and gas technician)A Refrigeration Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems. This may include large-scale commercial and industrial refrigeration units, as well as smaller residential units. The mechanic inspects, diagnoses, and repairs issues with the system, such as leaks, condensers, compressors, motors, and thermostats. They also may be responsible for ordering and replacing parts, as well as performing preventive maintenance.EducationMatric (Grade 12)Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Refrigeration) , Diploma or Higher certificate Skills5 years minimum experience Excellent problem-solving skills.Knowledge of safety protocols.Proficient in all types of refrigeration systems.Capable of working with minimal supervisionCertificationsSARACCA CertificationSAQCC CertificationTrade test certificationJob DescriptionInstall, maintain, and repair commercial and industrial-sized refrigeration systems and gas components.Inspect and diagnose refrigeration systems & gas for potential problems.Calibrate and adjust temperature controls and thermostats.Perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration & gas systems.Replace worn, defective, or malfunctioning components in refrigeration systems.Install, repair, and service pumps, compressors, and condensers.Connect electrical wiring, piping, and tubing to refrigeration
