Job Summary
- Financial skills to assess the total cost of procurement;
- Interpersonal and negotiating skills necessary to build effective working relationships with supply partners;
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- One-year experience desired with SAP;
- Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience as an procurement engineer;
- Ability to work with a wide range of technical, sales, manufacturing, management personnel and business process owners;
- Strong project management and procurement methods.
- Monitoring project timelines and issuing purchase orders to meet delivery requirements;
- Obtaining quotes and conducting quote analysis;
- Effectively lead continuous improvement projects and performance initiatives with supply base;
- Assuring purchased product costs and Outline Agreements are accurately established and maintained.
- Engaging corporate quality, business unit(s), and suppliers in the First Article Inspection process to support product changes;
- Effectively manage supplier selection to meet quality, service, delivery, cost, risk mitigation, and supplier capabilities to meet requirements;
- Effectively communicating and engaging with wide range of leadership levels;
- Hosting supplier project meetings and issuing meeting notes with action items, due dates, and ownership;
- Actively negotiating with suppliers to address quality, delivery, price, or service discrepancies.
