Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Construction Site Manager who will be responsible for managing construction site and all related aspects in Johannesburg and Tshwane areas, including effectively managing all site staff, subcontractors and suppliers.
Responsibilities:
Manage construction site and all related aspects in Johannesburg and Tshwane areas, including effectively managing all site staff, subcontractors and suppliers. Experience in hospital renovations and related services coordination is essential. Manage all Notifications of Delays, Variation Orders and Non-Conformance Reporting. Interface with clients/architects/professionals and be considered the main lead representative on site. Ensure project timelines are met, strictly manage these according to an agreed schedule, and understand that continual planning is required to achieve this. Manage quality on all work and carry out checklist inspections as per quality management procedures. Ensure all procurement is managed through the schedule/allowable and purchase orders are obtained through the Supply Chain/Commercial department as per the system. Must be efficient in managing the allowable for labour, materials and plant and ensure the project stays on budget. Ensure all subcontractors work is performed to the quality standards of the project requirements and hold bi-monthly subcontractor site meetings. Manage the contract with the assistance of the Construction Manager. Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to. Skills: Unwavering attitude towards effective program management, quality control and cost control. Strong management & interpersonal skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure. Computer-literate with a good knowledge of MS Office suites and CCS Buildsmart would be a great advantage. A good understanding of communication channels and efficient with administration & paperwork requirements of the role. Qualifications: A diploma or Degree in Construction Management or SACPCMP is advantageous. A solid base of at least 6 to 10 years experience in construction, with at least the last five years in a proven Site Managers role. A good understanding of the JBCC contract. Own transport required.
