Job Summary

Our client, a leading player in the tobacco industry, is seeking a seasoned Finance Executive to join their dynamic team in Africa. The ideal candidate will bring extensive financial expertise, strategic thinking, and a solid understanding of the tobacco sector`s unique challenges and opportunities.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement robust financial strategies aligned with the company`s overall business objectives. Oversee financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to ensure accurate financial planning. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and disclosures in compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and local regulations. Maintain rigorous internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with all financial, tax, and statutory requirements. Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and treasury functions. Optimize cash flow management to ensure liquidity and effective capital utilization. Collaborate with senior management and board of directors to provide financial insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making. Liaise with external auditors, regulatory authorities, and financial institutions to maintain strong professional relationships. Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, including currency, credit, and market risks. Implement and monitor risk management policies and procedures to protect company interests. Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet evolving business needs. Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Qualifications: Bachelor`s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. A Master`s degree or professional qualifications (e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA) is highly preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role within the tobacco or FMCG industry. Proven track record in strategic financial planning, financial reporting, and compliance. Experience in manufacturing is preferred.
