Job Summary:

Hire Resolve`s client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Metallurgist to join our mining team in Gauteng. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient processing and extraction of metals from raw materials in our mining operations. This role requires a strong background in metallurgy, materials science, and mineral processing, as well as excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing our metallurgical processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Support adherence to safety, health, and environmental protocols within the plant.
• Implement technical standards and procedures for efficient plant operations.
• Ensure operational activities meet and maintain technical standards.
• Conduct audits to verify compliance with specifications and parameters, collaborating with plant personnel.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in plant processes.
• Offer ongoing technical assistance to the production team to achieve operational objectives.
• Provide in-depth analysis of process control and plant performance interrelations.
• Coordinate metal accounting, ensuring accuracy in reporting and monitoring metal usage.
• Monitor production performance metrics, analyze data, and identify trends for process optimization.
• Conduct research and analysis to pinpoint areas for production process enhancement and cost reduction.
• Assist in maintaining stable and sustainable plant performance within metallurgical parameters.

Requirements:

• BEng or BSc Degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
• Post Graduate qualification will be advantageous
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical metallurgy within the mining industry with extensive gold experience
• Strong knowledge of mineral processing, hydrometallurgy, and pyrometallurgy
• Experience with process simulation software and data analysis tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Knowledge of relevant safety and environmental regulations
