Job Summary
Job Title: Assistant Silo Manager
Hire Resolves client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Silo Manager to support the operations of their silo facility in Makwassie, North West. The Assistant Silo Manager will work closely with the Silo Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the silo, including overseeing daily operations, monitoring inventory levels, and coordinating maintenance and repairs.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Silo Manager in overseeing all aspects of silo operations, including receiving, storing, and distributing grain.
- Monitor grain inventory levels and ensure accurate reporting.
- Coordinate with suppliers and truck drivers for grain deliveries and pickups.
- Assist in scheduling and overseeing maintenance and repairs of equipment and facilities.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
- Assist in training and supervising silo employees.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the silo facility.
- Provide support to the Silo Manager as needed to ensure efficient and effective operation of the silo.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor`s degree in agriculture or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in grain handling or silo operation is strongly preferred.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with inventory management systems.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to grain handling.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
- Willingness to work extended hours during peak season.
