Job Summary
A great mining company in Gauteng is seeking the expertise of a Group MRM to join their team of professionals.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that the quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of database input from the operations is of the acceptable standard to support mineral resource modelling and estimation as per SAMREC requirements
- Engage with operations on database integrity, SOPs and QA/QC procedures, geological models and resource estimation
- Undertake geological modelling for operations as well as projects
- Conduct audit reviews for models independently produced by the operations and projects
- Undertake resource estimation for operations as well as projects
- Conduct audit reviews for resource estimations independently produced by the operations and projects
- Act as custodian of the annual mineral resources and reserves reports
- Be the Competent person as per SAMREC requirements by producing annual mineral resources and reserves reports, after undertaking and collating the estimations of the various group operations and projects
- Undertake reviews of geological data and resource evaluation of exploration projects
Requirements
- Grade 12
- BSc Honours Degree in Geology
- Graduate Diploma Mining Engineering (recommended)
- 12 – 15 years mining geology experience
- Experience in using mineral resource evaluation software / geological software.
- Registered with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP)
