Job Summary
A great mining company in Mpumalanga is seeking the expertise of an Occupational Hygienist to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Identify conditions in the workplace that may cause illness or adverse health effects to persons
- Take Ownership of Occupational Hygiene Risk Assessments and compliance to related guidelines.
- Assess occupational health risks due to identified hazards and recommend control measures to mitigate the risk
- Implementation and execution Mine Occupational Hygiene Strategy
- Ensure Occupational Hygiene Legal Compliance and derive reports including ad hoc and mandatory, quarterly and annual performance reports
- Produce Occupational exposure histories and link Occupational Hygiene measurements to medical surveillance records.
- Support studies of internal trends, incidents, practices and developments to prioritize critical focus areas and design innovative pathways to introduce sustainable step change in occupational hygiene management
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Advanced MEC Certificate
- Degree / Diploma in Safety, Health and Environment
- Registration with MVSSA or SAIOH
- 6- 8 years experience in an underground or plant mining environment
