Job Summary
Core Purpose Design of bridges and associated transport related structural elements. Key Performance Areas: Manage the bridge team. Manage the design process of projects. Projects Resource Allocation and Ensure that project budgets are adhered to. Design of bridges and associated road structural elements. Able to work unsupervised with efficient time management. Able to lead a design team and work under pressure. Assist in preparation of proposals. Technical Report writing. Feasibility studies as required by Project Managers. Entrepreneurial with high business acumen. Requirements Qualifications BSc (Civil Engineering), or BTech (Civil/Structural Engineering). Pr Eng or Pr Tech (ECSA) registration. Registered Bridge Inspector will be an advantage . Experience 12 years plus experience in Bridge Design. Detailed knowledge of Finite Element Design Software such as Sofistik/Prokon/AutoCAD/Revit. Preparation of Contract Documentation , specifications and schedules of quantities. Knowledge of SANRAL processes will be an advantage . Experience in bridge hydrology and hydraulics will be an advantage. Experience in design of feature bridges will be an advantage. Competencies Good communication skills. Planning & organising.
