Job Summary

iOCO Infrastructure Services: Where Challengers and Innovators Thrive. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Onsite L3 VMware Engineer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in providing expert-level support, troubleshooting, and maintaining our VMware infrastructure. What youll do: VMWare 8 to 10 years. Maintain the different vCenter, cluster, and DC environments and usage. Knowledge of VMware Horizon Environment 7 and 8. Instant clones. Recomposing of existing VDI`s. Troubleshoot performance issues on hosts and VMs. Knowledge of vROPS and Log Insights. SRM with Nutanix replication. DR tests performed every 3 months, onsite required, and knowledgeable on SRM failover testing. Upgrade of ESXi, vCenters, and VMware platforms. Log calls with VMware support if and when required. Handle any vulnerabilities with urgent attention. Nutanix. Maintain the different cluster nodes through Prism Central. Maintain and troubleshoot Acropolis clusters. Address any warnings and errors. Log call with Nutanix support if and when required. Upgrade of AOS and firmware through LCM. Replacement of faulty parts as well as knowledge of foundation and Phoenix when replacing failed boot devices. Rubrik. Product knowledge and the different back and restore types. Your Expertise: The client is a 24-hour shop, business hours are from 06:00 to 18:00. 06:00 to 15:00 shift in this team, meaning you perform health checks on the VMware and Nutanix kit then send them through before 06:20 each morning, if anything is picked up, a vendor call and ETA for replacement parts or issue fixed needs to be provided by 06:40. Standby will be every 3rd and 4th week, one is primary contact other is secondary contact. High paced, high-pressured environment with a lot of different technologies, so knowing how network and security plug into an estate is advised. CAB meetings are on Tuesdays and all changes need to be approved including adding resources to VMs. Maintenance tasks such as upgrades are done on weekends only. Qualifications Required: VMware VCP 7 / 8 VMware Horizon 7 / 8 Nutanix certifications Rubrik Other information applicable to the opportunity: Location: Onsite/ Remote client site. Physical demands: Normal office work, remote work, and in some cases data center visits. Travel: To the client site when working from the office once or twice a week.
