Job Summary
Well-established and reputable Assurance and Accounting firm in the northern suburbs of Cape Town is currently recruiting for an experienced Accountant or Bookkeeper. They have offices in Bellville, Paarl, Malmesbury and Pretoria.
The successful candidate will be responsible for client liaising, sorting and filing of financial records, monthly accounting processing, processing up to trail balance, monthly bank reconciliations, VAT reconciliations, VAT201 submissions, preparation of year-end schedules to support the preparation of annual financial statements as well as other administrative duties.
The ideal candidate will have more than 3 years of bookkeeping and accounting experience in an accounting practice. Completed SAIPA articles would definitely be a positive, but not required as the client values the correct experience highly. A candidate with the intention of a long-term commitment would be viewed favourably.
This firm of Chartered Accountants (SA) and Registered Auditors offers a variety of services with the aim of continuously looking for cost-effective, value-added solutions to their clients business needs.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly bookkeeping, management accounts and payroll for clients.
- Preparing accounting work relating to annual financial statements.
- Responsible for calculating VAT, PAYE and other necessary SARS requirements on a monthly basis.
- Maintain excellent client relationships.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12.
- Diploma/Certificate in Accounting will be an advantage.
- Experience is more important than qualification.
- Computer Literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, Pastel, Sage and Xero).
- Must have a minimum of 3 years experience as a bookkeeper.
- Must have experience in VAT, PAYE and Income tax.
- Liaising with SARS.
Competencies required:
- Must have a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must have strong methodical and analytical skills.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be able to work well under pressure.
- Must have excellent planning and organising skills.
Remuneration:
- R10,000 to R25,000 pm, depending on experience.
